Mr. Williams is responsible for overseeing all legal matters involving Waddell, Williams & Associates, its affiliates and their operations. In his capacity as chief legal officer, Mr. Williams assists other members of the firm in structuring and negotiating transactions on behalf of WWA. He is also involved in the negotiations of the various acquisitions made by the merchant banking and investment fund affiliates and is responsible for the regulatory approval process and securities-related matters.
Prior to joining WWA, Mr. Williams was a partner in the law firm of Bowers & Williams in Dayton, OH where he specialized in banking, corporate, securities, criminal and civil law. He as been lead counsel and strategist on numerous complex supervisory and non-supervisory acquisitions involving both foreign and domestic acquirors.
Mr. Williams is a member of the National Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and a former member of the Thurgood Marshall Law Society. He has been a Board Member and Trustee for the Dayton Ballet and the Fifth Third Bank Community Reinvestment Program.
